About Us

Our Mission

To provide students with an accurate, comprehensive APUSH score calculator, helping them understand their performance and achieve their AP U.S. History goals.

Who We Are

APUSH Score Calculator is created and maintained by Rohit Chauhan. It was built to give students clarity, confidence, and real-time scoring insight into their AP U.S. History preparation.

Why We Created This Calculator

APUSH is intense — MCQs, SAQ, DBQ, LEQ — different weightage, confusing scoring. Students practice exams without knowing “What would this score get me?”

This tool solves that by offering:

  • Realistic scoring estimates based on historical College Board curves
  • Clear score breakdown across MCQ / SAQ / DBQ / LEQ
  • Instant calculation — no login required
  • Free study guides, resources & exam prep help

Our Methodology & Sources

This calculator is not affiliated with the College Board, and it does not have access to unpublished cutoff data — no tool legitimately does, since the College Board doesn't release exact annual composite-to-score cutoffs. Instead, the formula is built from what the College Board does publish and confirm:

  • The official AP U.S. History Course and Exam Description (CED), which sets the exact section weights (MCQ 40%, SAQ 20%, DBQ 25%, LEQ 15%) and the current 2027 exam format.
  • College Board's own AP Central exam-update pages, which we cross-check every time the exam format changes — most recently the May 2027 SAQ and LEQ changes.
  • Historically released official score distributions and scoring guidelines, used to build the approximate 1–5 cutoff ranges shown throughout this site — always labeled as unofficial estimates, never presented as guaranteed cutoffs.

Every page that states an exam-format fact links back to where that fact comes from, and gets re-checked whenever the College Board updates its materials. See how the scoring formula works for the full breakdown.

Looking Forward

We plan to expand calculators for AP World, Euro, and more subjects. Continuous improvements are coming based on student & teacher feedback.
